Backlight Inverters and LED Driver Boards within Samsung LCD and LED TVs have similar functionality and share the same part numbering system. The Backlight Inverter is a part of your TV’s Panel Assembly. The Backlight Inverter is mounted to the back of the Panel close to the left and or right edge, and is hidden under a metal or plastic cover. Some Panel Assemblies have multiple inverters, which will be named Master or Slave, depending on their location and function. Inverters are connected to the panel via small wires or lock into a series of small slot connections built into the panel.
Like the Backlight Inverter, the LED Driver Board is also a part of your TV’s Panel Assembly. It is typically centered on the back of the Panel, and is hidden under a metal or plastic cover. Samsung Backlight Inverters and LED Driver Boards are part-number specific, and do not require matching TV model number, serial number, or panel number in order to confirm compatibility.
If the label found on the back of the panel begins with LT, then the Backlight Inverter(s) or LED Driver Board will be manufactured by Samsung, and is identified by using the following part number pattern: LJ97- followed by 5 numbers and 1 letter for a suffix(LJ97-#####[A-Z]). The LJ97- portion of the part number will never appear anywhere on these boards, but the rest of the part number can be found within a mix of numbers and letters printed on the board label. These labels vary in location, size, and color, and can also have a barcode printed on them.
Look for the line of text that begins with 5 numbers, followed by 1 letter, and then a mix of numbers and letters. Write down these first 5 numbers and the first letter following them. Write LJ97- in front of these six characters, and you have successfully identified the part number for your Samsung Backlight Inverter or LED Driver Board!
-- Search Scenario #1: Your Search Returns An Exact Match
Search your LJ97 part number on ShopJimmy.com to find a compatible replacement. Typically, your part number will match the ShopJimmy Item Number.
-- Search Scenario #2: Your Search Returns A Differing Item Number
If searching your part number directs you to items that have differing ShopJimmy Item Numbers, take a look at the product details to confirm that your number is listed in the Part Number, Board Number, or Substitute Parts fields. If your number is listed in the Part Number, Manufacturer, or Board Number fields on a product page, but is different than the ShopJimmy Item number, that just means that we have found Manufacturer Part Numbers that relate to this product. These part numbers typically start with BN81, and are found within the TV’s service manual. As long as your LJ97 part number is found in the Part Number or Board Number field, this item will be the correct replacement TV part for you.
-- Search Scenario #3: Your Search Has Multiple Results
If searching your part number directs you to items that have slightly different LJ97 numbers, take a look at the product details to confirm that your part number is in the Substitute Parts field. As long as your part number is found in the Substitute Parts field, this item will be a compatible substitute and will work in your TV.
-- Search Scenario #4: Your Item Is Out of Stock
If your part number is out of stock, be sure to check the Substitute Parts field on the product page for compatible replacements. These substitutes are guaranteed to replace your original board, even if the part numbers on the board do not match.
